Salesforce acquires Quip

Salesforce, the cloud software giant, has acquired Quip for $582 million. Yes you read it right its $582 million. This young word processing app has impressed the Salesforce founder so much that he decided to buy it.
So what does quip do?
Quip enables you to create and communicate in one place. Its versatile and lets you and your team communicate and work together seamlessly. Rather than writing in one product and sending an email with a link to actually talk about it, team communicates directly inside of quip documents and spreadsheets.
Usually teams collaborate using chatter, which is a real time enterprise social collaboration tool that connects employees. It seamlessly integrates with Salesforce, Facebook, twitter and linkedin too. Where as Chatter does not support document sharing, chat and messages, spreadsheets etc on all the devices.
Quip enables you to create beautiful documents on any device and also share it whenever to whomever you want. This would enable salesforce to share stuff outsite salesforce too.
Quip can be used successfully not just for small companies but for mid and large scale organisations. This would make salesforce a better software with overall emphasis on communication, collaboration and Customer service.

Lets look forward to integrate salesforce with Quip and have better collaboration and seamless integrations.
